On May 3, 2023 a meeting on the development of cooperation between the representatives of the Belarusian Professional Dance League and the rector of the leading cultural university of our country – “Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts” Natalia Karchevskaya took place.

A native of Minsk, N. Karchevskaya graduated with honors from the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts in 1994. In parallel with her studies she was engaged in choreography and performed in the ensemble “Charovnitsy” until her third year.
After graduation she went to graduate school, although she admitted that she did not plan to engage in scientific activity before that.
It should be clarified that N. Karchevskaya is a choreographer, is a candidate of art history, associate professor. At that time she also performed in the Mogilev Regional Philharmonic Society, later – in the Youth Variety Theater, where she became a leading stage master. However, then she returned to her native university – first as a teacher, then as an artistic director of the course. Later she became the Dean of the Faculty of Traditional Belarusian Culture and Contemporary Art, then the First Vice-Rector of the University.
Н. Karchevskaya is a deputy of the Minsk City Council of Deputies of the XVIII convocation. Since November 2018 – First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, since September 2020 N. Karchevskaya has been acting as Rector of “Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts” .
